On 4th
July 2019, we had a schedule that we must went to the other city to participate
event called consensus camp, consensus camp held two days. We had to be ready
on 6.40 am in front of temple near our basecamp for waiting the bus, but the
bus is not on time so we waiting for so long until 7.20 am, and we went to
other city at Xinshe District, at that place we must presentation about out
project proposal, what are we going to do in Yuemei Village.
Yuemei Village is a rural township
that is known for agricultural product in Chiayi County. Yuemei community is
mostly working as fruits and vegetables farmers. In Yuemei village the
agricultural products depend on the season, in summer they produce dragon
fruit, watermelon, honeydew melon, paprika and pineapple. In winter they
produce dragon fruit and cherry tomato, because of that, the dragon fruit is
always produced, we decided to use dragon fruit as an ingredient. Before we
presented about our project proposal, we show our introducing video about all
team members. Then we presented about our project that is we make Indonesian
traditional food and we mix with a local commodity in Yuemei Village which is
the dragon fruit, and we called the product is “Dragondoll”, Dragondoll is the
dragon fruit made intododol. We saw the others team from the other country like
Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam and Taiwan, they’re presented about their
project too, their projects are so cool, like Thailand they make project about
Coffee Berry Borer and called “Berry Bad”. Because we’re late, so we just saw
some of teams that presented their project.
After all of team presented, we
take some picture together with all of teams and organizer, after that we have
lunch and we go back to the bus for went to the grapes plantations. In grapes plantation, we learn
about how to planting grapes, treating grapes plant and grapes plant physical. After
that we went to mushroom house, in there we were taste various kinds of
mushroom product, like crispy mushroom, spicy mushroom, wasabi mushroom,
mushroom ice, sausage from mushrooms and others.
At 3 PM we went to other building
in Xinshe District, in there we were presented our project again but we
presented to Taiwan Students, before we presenting we make some poster again
but using color markers and paperboard, poster content in the form of packaging
drawings and marketing methods and then we presented the poster in front of all
of team rural-up program, this event is so long but we enjoy it.
At 10.30 PM we leave the build and
went to the hotel,the hotel rooms for boys and
girls are diferent, the first arrival to the rooms, the boys came in
five to the rooms: Dhani, Uqi, Kamal, Jundi and Golden (teamates), 20
minuteslater when we are ready to sleep, someone came and knock to our room, Jundihad
to opened and apparently somebody which is same room with us, his name is
Robin, so we were know each other and make some little chat with him, and then
we take a wefie but golden is not in room, we don’t know he went to, and then
we went to sleep, cause tomorrow we have early schedule in the morning.
Friday, we participated in the activities of Team Flag Award Ceremony.All
foreign participants wore country traditional costumes.Before the ceremony was
held, each team was given a picture that should be colored using beans. Next,
the pictures were put together to become a puzzle. After that, Each team is
called to the stage to be pinned and given a team flag. We feel isolated here,
because the program guide only used Taiwanese language without being translated
into English. So during the activity, we didn't understand anything.
Furthermore, participating foreign team was collected in a room to listen
to the delivery of representatives of Soil and Water Conservation Bureau. In
addition, representatives of each team were interviewed about impressions of
the program. The last, we were delivered by bus back to
each location of each team's placement.
